The start of 2014 saw Plumbs, the soft furnishing specialists broaden their usual exhibition calendar, spending £90,000 to include 12 shows across the UK.
The calendar began with one of the biggest events of the year – The Ideal Home Show London, which spanned over a two week period in March. This show in particular attracts people of all ages with its wide range of exhibitors, products and celebrity guest speakers.
Plumbs also gave people the opportunity to see their work up close over a four month period, by creating a trade stand at a local Dobbies Garden centre.
As well as attending many other indoor home events, Plumbs battled with the elements at flower and garden shows across the country, such as BBC Gardeners World, Hampton Court, and Sandringham Flower Show.
Exhibitions Manager Emma Page, explains why these sorts of events are important:
“The exhibitions are really vital to us as they enable us to reach people that may never have heard of Plumbs before. It also gives us the chance to talk to people who may have seen us in a magazine before, but maybe wanted to see what our products before they requested a free home visit. It’s also great for Plumbs to attend these exhibitions as many people won’t be aware about how much our products have changed over the years, so may not have necessarily thought of us when updating their home.”
Plans and bookings for 2015 have already begun with a big focus again on the home and garden shows. Plumbs also plan to make greater use of their specially converted exhibition trailer, setting up where and when they can across the country.
