London Fashion Week

Home All London Fashion Week

It’s never too early to look ahead when it comes to London Fashion Week, so we thought we’d take a look at what colour trends have been on the catwalk for next Spring/Summer, to help you co-ordinate your home with your wardrobe.

Emilia Wickstead’s Spring/Summer looks for 2014 were all about block colour in blues, yellows and pastel pinks, only broken up with a few striped pieces. Designs were simple, feminine and elegant which meant the real focus was on the beautiful shades of colour. Plain coloured fabrics look great in the home too, especially on sofas to showcase good simple design. OurMaddison fabric in Cornflower is the perfect way to add a splash of colour to your living room and can also be placed with bold throws and cushions for a complementary look.

Temperley London showcased pinks, plums and reds for their show, in floor length embelished skirts and dresses. “It’s about complete romance; a Sicilian dream; a tropical mood in a Mediterranean environment” says Alice Temperley (Vogue.co.uk). This femine and romantic look can be achieved using our Elite fabric in Crocus designed by Wilmans. Complete the look with clashing textures or by using floral and striped cushions together for a contrasting look.

A fresh, clean breeze is sweeping aside all the fuss and frills for next spring”, says fashion writer Alison Lynch (Metro Blog), and that’s definitely clear to see when you look at Emilia Wickstead’s clean cut shapes and vibrant yellow and green shades. These colours will work perfectly next season, with block colour outfits or our simple Panama Loose Covers(shown in Lime) being dressed up or down with accessories to keep up with current trends.

Bora Aksu uses handmade Turkish textiles with crocheted pieces and sheer panels in his collection. He mainly used soft colours such as pale blues but also included this showstopping colour on a floor length gown. You can make an impression in your home with similar bold tones, using our Perdita fabric in Scarlett. Teamed with neutral walls and splashes of red accessories, this look definitely has that wow factor.
